Todays news there are alot of new products being shown here this week. Today we are going to spotlight 2 companies,Telestream and AJA.
 
AJA known for their quality and commitment to video has released 4 new converters.

The HD10CEA, HA5, 3GM and the 3GDA. The HD10CEA converts SD/HD-SDI With embedded audio to analog Video and 4 channel balanced analog audio. This versatile low cost miniature monitoring solution will be available soon and has a MSRP of $990.00.

The HA5 converts HDMI to SD/HD-SDI it has 2 SDI/HD-SDI outputs supporting HDMI cables on the input. This will be available in May for the MSRP of $490.00. The 3GM is a great tool for interconnecting dual-link 1.5G SMPTE and 3G SMTPE. The HA5 can also convert 3G from/to type A/B IT will be available in Q2 for the MSRP of $990.00. And finally from AJA is the 3GDA a low cost 1x6 3G HD-SDI/HD-SDI/SDI re-clocking distribution amplifier. This will also be i Q2 for the MSRP of $690.00

Telestream showed Episode for adapting your media. Episode is scalable and works flawlessly on the Mac. Some of its features are being allowed to batch process in the background and you can prioritize encoding and add files and settings to the batch while it is running.Preivew A/B comparison and auto-update on the fly. Boasts more than 500 templates has 2 pass in-coding. Output formats include for the WEB Flash 8 and Flash 9, Streaming mobile 3gpp,3gpp2,mp4.H.264, Apple TV, iPod, iPhone IPTV, DVD and HDDVD.

Todays new NAB product is Canon and Sorenson Squeeze 5. Quietly Sorenson announced the Squeeze 5 product line

The new line from canon is the XL-H1 Now you say that hey it is already a product and you would be right. However they have revamped it a bit and have made a couple changes for different people. There is the XL-H1s and the XL-H1a. Both camera boast a new and improved lens that will allow you to zoom and focus at the same time. Instead of 4 channels of audio they have simplified it with 2 channels of audio. The XL-H1s has the hd/sd-sdi and still has a price tag of $8995. The XL-H1a has all the same features except there is no hd/sd-sdi, this results in a price tag of under $6000.00 and should be available by the end of Q2.

Sorenson has brought us the new Sorenson Squeeze 5 family. it includes Squeeze 5, Squeeze 5 Pro, Squeeze for flash and Squeeze for Flash Pro. All of them boast a much easier and user friendly interface making the clients experience much more enjoyable. they have also made it so it will process multi jobs like before except will also do multi core.

Edit Share showed some great share storage devices all thru Gig E and 10 gigabit.Edit Share “Complete Collaboration” with configurations from 4 drives up to an 8U 30TB solutions with edit share 5.5 it gives you the ability to Share bins and project folders to other users on both Mac and PC.Edit Share will allow Avid users on the windows platform to capture HDV, P2 and XD cam files larger than 2gb.

Matrox has introduced a new Mac solution to be shipping in Q2 of 2008. and that is the MXO2 this is a full I/O device with the ability to give you 5.1 surround out of the box. Has the ability to run of portable batteries for the field or on AC power in the studio. the unit will ship with a PCIe and an Express34 card with each unit making it a great solution for desktops and laptops. Works with Final Cut Studio, Adobe Premier and Avid. the MXO2 will have a suggested retail of $1,595.00
