DaVinci Resolve 8

The DaVinci Resolve 8 is a major new update to BlackMagic's most advanced color correction tool. DaVinci Resolve 8 includes new extremely powerful features and will be available to all DaVinci Resolve users free of charge!

DaVinci Resolve is the world's most advanced color correction tool and is used on more Hollywood feature films, commercials and television shows than any other system. New features in DaVinci Resolve 8 include multi layer timeline support with editing, and XML import and export with Apple Final Cut Pro™. DaVinci Resolve Lite

The DaVinci Resolve Lite is a new reduced feature version of DaVinci Resolve that includes many powerful color correction features in a downloadable software package available free of charge.

To help promote the art of color correction, DaVinci Resolve Lite includes many powerful features found in the full version of DaVinci Resolve for an extremely powerful toolset that anyone will able to download. DaVinci Resolve Lite is based on the upcoming DaVinci Resolve 8, and will run on the latest model iMac, 17inch MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computers.

DaVinci Resolve Lite includes all the same high quality processing of the full DaVinci Resolve, however limits projects to SD and HD resolutions, only two color correction nodes, a single processing GPU and a single RED rocket card. Stereoscopic 3D features, noise reduction, power mastering, remote grading and sharing projects with an external database server are features only offered in the full DaVinci Resolve so are not included in this free DaVinci Resolve Lite edition. Customers who want to eliminate these restrictions can simply purchase the full DaVinci Resolve Software for only US$995.

DaVinci Resolve Lite includes high quality optical resizing, curve grading, XML import and export, 32 bit float processing, YRGB image processing, multi layer timelines, stabilization, window tracking, primary and secondary color correction, real time processing, capture and playback with deck control, compatibility with third party control panels and many more. UltraStudio 3D with Thunderbolt

The UltraStudio 3D is a compact and portable capture and playback device based on the all-new Thunderbolt™ technology developed by Intel® and brought to market with collaboration from Apple®. UltraStudio 3D features full resolution dual stream 3D support, 12 bit hardware architecture, dual link 3 Gb/s SDI, support for up to 1080p60 in SDI and component analog and HDMI 1.4a connections, as well as full SD, HD and 2K support, for only US$995.

The new Thunderbolt™ technology enables UltraStudio 3D to offer Dual Link 3 Gb/s SDI, HDMI 1.4a and analog component/s-video/composite, as well as balanced analog and AES/EBU digital audio capture and playback. UltraStudio 3D is perfect for 3D workflow as it features both interleaved/side by side and dual stream capture and playback. Interleaved 3D allows the left and right eye to be interleaved as fields into a single video connection and file, so customers can edit using current editing software.

Dual stream 3D allows customers to use the UltraStudio 3D dual link SDI connections to capture and playback two streams, one for the left eye and one for the right eye. The two streams are recorded into two separate media files. Dual stream 3D is higher quality because each eye is full resolution video, but dual stream is less compatible with current editing software. To solve this problem, Blackmagic Design's Media Express has been upgraded to handle both interleaved and dual stream 3D for capture and playback of 3D media for a complete 3D solution.

ATEM Production Switchers

Blackmagic Design announced a new range of ATEM Production Switchers, with new powerful features, smaller size, lower cost and the ability for users to customize their solution for their needs and budget. ATEM Production Switchers now start from a low $2,495.

ATEM Production Switchers will now be sold independent of the control panel, so customers can start at a lower cost, using the chassis and a software control panel for Mac or PC. If the customer needs a robust hardware based control panel, then the ATEM Broadcast Panels can be purchased separately.

The new software control panel software for Mac and Windows lets customers use ATEM switchers from their laptop, greatly reducing cost and increasing portability. The ATEM Software Control provides a professional M/E workflow control panel with parameter adjustments in simple to use palettes. Customers can also manage the media pool in the switcher and change switcher settings.

There are two models of ATEM switcher and both include the ATEM Software Control Panel for free. The 1 M/E Production Switcher model is 2 rack units size, and includes 8 total inputs of SDI, HDMI and component video. This model has 3 aux. outputs, and a single Multi View for monitoring. The 2 M/E Product Switcher model is a larger 3 rack units in size, and includes two separate M/E rows, a total of 16 video inputs, 6 aux. outputs, 2 Multi Views for monitoring, redundant power input and SuperSource™ multi layer compositing.

ATEM Camera Converter

The ATEM Camera Converter is a new type of converter that allows consumer HDMI cameras or professional SDI cameras to use optical fiber for low cost connection to live production switchers up to 25 miles away. ATEM Camera Converter lets customers get more cameras closer to the live action at much lower cost. ATEM Camera Converter also includes talkback, external microphone input, program return feed, on-air tally and a built in battery power source for only $595.

ATEM Camera Converter is a complete solution for converting cameras to optical fiber for live production. Its low cost means it can even allow low end live productions to get the advantage of optical fiber for long camera distances away from the switcher, and closer to the action.

A consumer or professional camera can be connected to the HDMI or SDI inputs for conversion to optical fiber, and if the program feed is connected back via the optical fiber, the ATEM Camera Converter's HDMI and SDI outputs can be used for local camera or switcher program monitoring. Professional local microphone inputs are included for high quality audio from the camera location. ATEM Camera Converter also includes an internal battery for remote use when your cameras are located far away from power sources, and built in talkback and tally.

Previously placing cameras in live events required expensive cables and was limited to the most high end broadcast productions only. HyperDeck Shuttle

The new HyperDeck Shuttle is a disk recorder that captures uncompressed 10 bit SDI or HDMI video onto Solid State Disks (SSDs). HyperDeck Shuttle is a compact and portable design that's battery powered so it's designed for recording high quality on location shoots, or for use as a deck with live production switchers. HyperDeck Shuttle is only $345.

HyperDeck Shuttle gives customers the quality of uncompressed recording direct to common low cost SSDs in the smallest possible size! HyperDeck Shuttle is small, affordable and battery powered so it's perfect as a field recorder. HyperDeck Shuttle bypasses the camera's compression and records from SDI and HDMI directly into the highest quality uncompressed video. SSDs are cheap and fast, so customers can edit directly from the SSD media itself simply by plugging the SSD into an eSATA dock. This eliminates time wasting file copying.

HyperDeck Studio

The SmartView Duo is a dual rack monitor with 8 inch LCD screens, 3 Gb/s SDI video inputs and centralized network based control to allow easy color matching when used in multi monitor installations for only $695.

SmartView Duo features two large 8 inch LCD screens in a compact rack mount design that's less than an inch thick. SmartView Duo handles all SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI video standards, and all screens can be remotely adjusted via your Ethernet network, so setup is much simpler when users need to color match all the monitors in a large video wall setup.

DeckLink Quad includes 4 SDI inputs and 4 SDI outputs that can be switched between SD and HD video formats. This means that each SDI input or output could be a different video standard as well as different content streams. DeckLink Quad can also capture and play back at the same time. Media Express 3
